Update Schools, Groups & Childminders 2012

Shepshed Community Toy Library is a toy lending facility widely used by schools, playgroups, nurseries and childminders throughout Charnwood. This page contains information and news especially relevant to these groups.

News:

Have you got pre-school age children under your care?

Would you like to be able to borrow a range of quality toys to support
their learning journeys?

Would you like a place to visit where your children can socialise and
play, and you can network with other childminders and parents?

Would you like access to fairly priced craft materials and kits?

Would you benefit from sharing ideas and experiences related to child
development?

Overview

With over 2000 items of stock available to borrow, and three stay and play sessions a week, our facility enables our members to vary the toys and play equipment they can offer to the children in their care, and also provides a valuable social network for parents, carers and their children.

Our range of toys is suitable for birth to 11 years old, and are organised into the following categories: first toys, pretend play, construction, outdoor play, games and puzzles and story sacks. We also have a range of books, DVDs and CDs and special needs toys. See our 'toys in stock' page for more details.

Membership is £25 per year for schools / nurseries / groups and childminders.  You can spread the cost over the year opting for our termly membership plan of £10 per term payable September / January and April. This enables you to borrow up to four items at a time for up to three weeks, or if covering a topic we may be able to extend this to 8 items for 6 weeks.

We are situated on the Hind Leys college campus in Shepshed where there is a large car park. We have good disabled access, and have toilet facilities, a coffee bar and craft shop with reasonably priced craft goods.

Opening times are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:30-12:00 during term time. We also open the last Thursday evening of each month 6:30-7:30pm

Why not call in and see what we have to offer. Or, for more information ring 01509 601146.
